Static websites often fail to engage modern customers who expect instant interaction. That was done from a JavaScript based payment proccessor intended for Node, but patched into a system that doesn't use it. Although, I must warn you that additional JavaScript isn't always the best answer.
Custom CSS or a re-design should be your first options for anything related to the the UI of a website. Same thing with SVG animations, like all my navigation links (which is actually made without JS, and are easiest to view with a mouse).
JavaScript should always be the last option since it runs the slowest, among many other reasons. But by creating a seamless experience, I can remove the friction between a customer’s interest, and what you want them to do.
Off-the-shelf plugins are often bloated and rarely do exactly what you need for your specific business. I can build lightweight, purpose-driven scripts that align perfectly with how you operate, and what you intend your users to do.
This approach ensures your website works for you, rather than forcing you to work around the limitations of something generic.
Although I again must warn you that there are times when it’s a much smarter idea to remake a website, and possibly with full stack web development.
Why? Because if certain very important decisions aren’t made from day 1: everything that follows will be like a house built on sand in an earthquake zone. Which is why you really ought to contact me for a marketing consultation, and maybe some tailored branding first, because starting off on the wrong foot will make you waste thousands.
Poorly written scripts are a major factor in slow websites, which frustrates users and tanks your Google ranking. I can write clean, efficient JavaScript that executes efficiently without dragging down your load times.
There are 3 ways to do that. The ideal way is with ”vanilla” JavaScript because it runs the fastest, and isn’t bloated like the the 2nd best way: something like React, JQuery, and so on. The 2nd ways tend to have MASSIVE file sizes, most of it is unused, and they can slow the site down a lot. The 3rd doesn't really matter, because it relates to the 2nd.
There are pros and cons to each, and decisions have to be made early on to fit your needs, but no matter what: JavaScript should be avoided for graphics unless absolutely necessary, as I described before.
A big risk in web development is hiring someone you can never meet, or lives in another country. As a developer based near Lake Zurich, I provide a level of transparency and accountability that remote ones simply cannot offer, since I do video production in person as well.

Contract vs. Email: everything is subject to your project requirements, but HUGE projects usually require a small contract in plain English. A typical contract for a large project is about 2-5 pages, but small projects like a basic website can be done through an agreement by email (no fancy contract). It all depends on what you want, but you must pay in milestones as I describe below. Also, if something is NOT in our agreement (via contract or email), then it isn't included in my services. So be clear with what you need, because I only charge based on the specific services you ask for. Anything beyond that may increase the price (though if it's super small and within the scope anyway, I'm probably okay without increasing the price).
Payment milestones: there are usually 2-3 milestones where you pay. They're usually done in 1/2's or 1/3's of the total project price: first to start, second on first draft, and third upon completing everything in our agreement.
Payment types: I accept Cash in USD, Zelle, Credit, Debit, Check, Money Order, Cryptocurrency, Gold, and Silver.
Discounts: you get 5% off if you pay with Cash, Gold, or Silver. All others are 5% more. If you want the discount, we'll meet at a local library room or something similar, and I'll give you a receipt as proof of payment. Although if you do Gold or Silver, I will want to test them first in front of you via sound, weight, and shape.
Time to start: physical payment methods also get me to start the project immediately. Anything else may have a hold until the payment clears (usually 3-7 days).
Time to complete: subject to your project requirements. You will get this in our agreement.
