You don't cook strawberries, you eat them raw.
If you grow them, make sure you have lots of organic compost, preferably with fish meal, fish bones, etc.
That way, when they're ready to be picked, they're super red on the inside, extremely flavorful, and so delicious you'll inhale them. I suggest alpine strawberries for their unique flavor.
Peaches and cream are really good too.
